SUMMARY

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County is seeking dedicated volunteers to provide support in various areas based on the Club's daily needs. As a Small Group Volunteer, you will have the opportunity to assist with a range of activities, such as snack preparation, academic help, supporting the games room, and assisting with programming happening that day.

We are looking for positive individuals who can balance an energetic, fun, youth-focused atmosphere with professionalism and maturity.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with other volunteers and staff.
  • Flexibility to adapt to different tasks and contribute where needed.
  • Patience and a willingness to provide guidance and support to Club members.
  • Pass a local and national background check screening.

POTENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support activities in the Games Room, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Split into smaller groups to provide tutoring and homework assistance.
  • Help with snack preparation and distribution when youth arrive.
  • Assist with programming happening on the day, which could include arts, STEM activities, or sports.
  • Maintain a positive Boys & Girls Club culture with high energy, strong teamwork, and effective collaboration with other volunteers and staff.
  • Model positive behaviors for children and staff.

ABOUT US

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County (BGCTC) inspire and enable youth to realize their greatness. Our nine Clubs in Lacey (2), Olympia (3), Rochester, Tenino, Tumwater, and Yelm collectively serve over 1,500 youth and teens annually with safe, fun, and supportive activities and mentoring during critical out of school time. Founded in 2001, BGCTC has nearly 75 employees and an annual operating budget of $3.6 million. Shellica Trevino, Chief Executive Officer, leads the organization, which is governed by our Board of Directors. BGCTC’s administrative office manages human resources, finances, resource development, communications, marketing, and operational activities for Club locations.
